Students discovering Day of the Dead Masks
We recently celebrated the Day of the Dead in the art room. 8th graders were to create masks using molds and plaster of paris. Students were to create elaborate designs and paint them with bright colors! Students learned color mixing techniques to make their paints from the primary colors. Here students learned elements of the color wheel and design.

Mixed Mediums
8th graders watercolor washed the backgrounds to their tree paintings. Using tempera paint students painted trees with white and magenta flowers representing spring blossoms.
7th Grade Students create Mandala's
Students discovered the art of the Mandala. A Buddhist word meaning circle. Students were to create a design in a circular pattern using their names or initials to form the design.
